Call for Abstracts
CLOSING DATE - Friday 4TH May 2011- 4:21pm NT time
The conference program will explore the range of factors during the early years that contribute to chronic diseases later in life. Chronic diseases can be the result of influences during pregnancy, childhood, or adolescence. Influences on chronic conditions later in life include, but are not limited to, whether a mother smokes in pregnancy, a child's diet and level of physical activity, exposure to domestic violence, parenting, and social determinants of health such as level of schooling, and the socioeconomic status of the family.
If you are working in this area, the 2012 Conference Organising Committee would like to invite you to submit an abstract for the 2012 Conference.
The committee is seeking abstracts that address the conference theme in the following streams:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives
- Childhood Obesity
- Early childhood or Adolescence
- The impact of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs
- Social influences, including education, parenting and domestic violence
- Antenatal influences
- Social determinants of health
- Public health influences, including immunisation programs and environmental health
- Consumer perspectives
Abstracts
- Must clearly address the conference theme and stream topic in 250 words or less
- Should be submitted with a completed Abstract Submission form. Be submitted via email, post or fax to the conference secretariat, Agentur

Abstracts are encouraged from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse groups, teams and groups, trainees and students, consumers, people and organisations working in a range of sectors, for example, education, health, child protection, local government, non government organisations and others.
